The Volvo V40 Cross Country was released for the 2013 model year beside the standard V40. The present Cross Country includes a higher echelon of adaptability to five-traveler hatchback of Volvo because of extra ground clearance, dark body dressing, and with the all-wheel drive system. Most of the updates will be carried out on its external part. The present V40 Cross Country is provided with several engine options, two among which, such as the D4 turbodiesel engine and the T5 petrol engine are from the Drive-E engine family of Volvo. The D4 turbodiesel engine comes with four cylinders, which produces the utmost power and torque of 190 ponies and 295 pounds per foot respectively. On the other hand, the T5 is a four-cylinder, 1.7-liter capacity turbocharged petrol engine that produces the utmost power and torque of 245 ponies and 258 pounds per foot respectively. This 2017 Volvo V40 Cross Country engine will be paired with either an eight-velocity automatic gearbox or with a six-velocity manual gearbox.
The global versions of 2017 V40 come equipped with a four-cylinder, 1.6-liter capacity GTDi petrol engine that produces the utmost power and torque of 188 ponies and 177 pounds per foot respectively. Similar to the T5, this T4 engine will be paired with the same mechanical or manual transmission systems.
Adding to the puzzlement, some worldwide markets get the new V40 with a five-cylinder, 2.0-liter capacity petrol engine that produces the utmost power and torque of 180 ponies and 221 pounds per foot respectively.
If Volvo introduces the new V40 in the United States, it will have only one engine option, which will be the T5 powertrain.
Base price and the date of release
The 2017 Volvo V40 Cross Country release date is expected to be the last quarter of 2016. However, Volvo has not yet fixed the price for its new V40, and it is expected that the price will be announced at the time of its launch.
