Infiniti, the luxury automobile division of the Japanese auto manufacturer, Nissan, unveiled the official particulars of its Infiniti QX Sport Concept at the 2016 Motor Show in Beijing. This concept crossover is the next generation of the 2016 model Infiniti QX50, the midsize crossover of the brand, which was previously recognized as the EX35, and is due for a fresh model. From the teaser image that Infiniti demonstrated on the show, one can say that the most attractive part of this concept car would be its headlight and face.

The major part of the external styling is its headlights that come with a unique design, with several square shape objects, positioned in specific ways to become similar to a frame for the headlights. This distinctive shape is positioned right on the outer surface of the slender housing. Even though this design features a unique look, the actual fact is that the automaker tries to use the Q80 Concept and the 2017 model Q60 Coupe as the base, which was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Show in Paris.
When the new concept is observed closely, one can perceive that the vehicle features a black body dressing, meaning there is the high likelihood that Infiniti QX Concept would be an athletic crossover kind of car, which is established by its gigantic, thinner front grille.

When comes to dimensions, the new Infiniti Concept Crossover is 5.7 inches shorter, but 3.8 inches wider and 2.3 inches taller than those of the earlier Infiniti QX50. It also comes with a lesser wheelbase that of the Infiniti QX50 by 3.2 inches. Overall, the new Infiniti concept comes with the external size of 181.1″ (L) x 74.8″ (W) x 65.0″ (H), with the wheelbase length of 110.2 inches. Ignoring the size difference, the front and back overhangs of the new concept are remarkably small and they are not possible to interpret to production, but the width, and most significantly the height, will offer it a bigger body when compared to that of the Infiniti QX50.

Infiniti QX Sport Concept Engine

At the 2016 Motor Show in Beijing, Infiniti revealed the engine specification, its powertrain figures, and performance of its new QX Sport Concept. By considering these specifications, the new concept SUV will be the somewhat better performance-oriented model than the earlier model of the Infiniti series, the 2017 Infiniti QX70 Limited. This means that the new SUV comes equipped with a more powerful power plant than that of the QX 70.

Accordingly, the new Infiniti QX Sport Concept comes outfitted with a V6, bi-turbo power plant with the displacement of 3.0 liters to generate more power and torque. This power plant will generate the greatest power of 400 ponies and the greatest twist of 350 pounds per foot. This is 75 ponies more than the power generated by the V6, 3.7-liter capacity powertrain of the Infinity QX70. The engine will be paired with a seven-velocity automatic gearbox to send power to all the four wheels, as it comes equipped with the all-wheel drive configuration, similar to that of the new Infiniti Q60 and the Infiniti Q50.

To conclude, the Infiniti SUV Concept is still only a concept, but the newest information dump of Infiniti at the motor show in Beijing serves as even a stronger proof that its crossover utility vehicle lineup will cultivate back to four models sooner or later.
