2017 VW Tiguan specs come from the three different engine options, such as petrol, diesel, and a hybrid engine. The engine options for Continental shoppers, buying the new SUV will rotate around turbocharged, four-cylinder direct-injected engines. Among them, four engines are TSI petrol units, and remaining four are TDI diesel engines. The most commanding gas engine produces the utmost power of 217 ponies, whereas the gutsiest twin-turbo 2.0-liter capacity diesel engine produces almost 240 ponies. All TSI petrol engines have different horsepowers: 92 kW / 125 PS, 110 kW / 150 PS, 132 kW / 180 PS and 162 kW / 220 PS. The four TDI diesel engines have 85 kW / 115 PS, 110 kW / 150 PS, 140 kW / 190 PS and 176 kW / 240 PS.
When comes to the hybrid variant, a traditional 1.4-liter capacity TSI gas powertrain with a transmission installed the electric motor and a 13-kWh capacity battery set would produce a combined power of 215 ponies. Unique to the VW Tiguan GTE is a complete rooftop solar board, which can cover a maximum distance of 621 miles of electric driving annually.
The automaker says that in electric-only mode, The Tiguan could cover a maximum distance of 31 miles solely on electric power and hit a maximum velocity of 80 mph, although possibly not on the identical drive. Different drive modes allow motoring in the entire electric, hybrid, battery charging, or GTE methods, the last of which employs the electric motor to increase the gas drive train from the 0-62-mph run in 8.1 seconds only.

These engines offer it a maximum towing capacity of about 2500 kg (5,500 pounds).
