The Evoque is obviously the surprise hit of Land Rover of the twenty-first century. It all started in the Motor City during the sixtieth anniversary of Land Rover in 2008. During the festivity, the company manufactured the wedge-shaped hybrid sports utility vehicle, the Land Rover LRX, with a luxurious cabin.
It was this sedan that became the 2011 model Evoque, derived from 4×4 chassis of the Freelander, with innovative independent suspension, four-cylinder Ford engines, and RANGE ROVER writing across the bonnet. The 2017 Range Rover Evoque Convertible is the redesigned version of the earlier model. The new model comes equipped with the same engine as that of the earlier model, and this time, buyers cannot expect much change in its interior and exterior design.
2017 Range Rover Evoque Convertible Facelift, Exterior
Although there is not much change in the external styling of the previous model, the new model will be offered with some aesthetic changes to make it appear modern. As a result, the revamped front part comes outfitted with a recently designed grille, LED daytime running lights and larger air intakes.
The roof of the 2017 Evoque Convertible is prepared from polyacrylic fabric, which is the broadest and lengthiest convertible roof of its sort on any vehicle. It will stow horizontally at the rear of the back travelers in 18 seconds and will be raised back in 21 seconds, at utmost velocities of 30 mph. The folding appliance weighs about 68 kg (150 pounds), which is almost 30 % more frivolous than a matching hardtop system.
Amazingly, the auto manufacturer of the new Evoque Convertible did not have to transform all that much to house the new folding soft-top. The doors come with no frames, and there is a new back spoiler, which contains an included LED back brake illumination. Rollover safety is created into the vehicle at the rear of the back seats with the operation of two aluminum bars in 90 milliseconds of a supposed roller to defend the vehicle’s occupants.
2017 Land Rover Evoque Convertible Interior
Like the exterior, there will not be much change in the interior design. However, there may be some artistic tweaks, such that the cabin of the Evoque Convertible will be outfitted with a revised instrument panel, redesigned door panels and with modernized seats.
The new model vehicle is also the first beneficiary of the flagship infotainment system of Land Rover in its Land Rover vehicle lineup. It comes outfitted with an InControl Touch Pro infotainment system that comes along with a touchscreen of size 10.2 inches, which is designed with no physical keys. Some of the swift access functions are revealed in a virtual dock on the bottom of the monitor.
However, initially, this infotainment system does not compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay apps, but it comes with the direction finding and a Smartphone app to allow the owners to set the temperature control, lock the vehicle and sound the horn. The infotainment system comes incorporated with the Wi-Fi hotspot facility, as well. Except these indoor features, the 2017 Evoque Convertible comes equipped with the identical features of the earlier model.
The innovative new Range Rover Evoque Convertible 2017 also comes with an abridged trunk capacity of 8.9 cubic feet. However, this small trunk offers enough space to keep all the necessary moving parts.
The power and torque outputs come through the same engine used the previous model. The US edition of the new Evoque comes outfitted with the only available turbocharged engine with four cylinders and with the capacity of 2.0 liters. This engine will be capable of delivering the new vehicle the necessary power of 240 horses and the necessary torque of 250 lbs per foot.
The engine will be paired with a nine-rate mechanical gearbox and the new vehicle comes outfitted with the four-wheel drive setup as standard. All other global versions would come outfitted with more than one engine option, including a diesel engine. The 2017 Land Rover Evoque Convertible engine speeds up the SUV to reach the speed of 60 mph from the static mode in 8.6 seconds and to acquire the maximum speed of 130 mph.
Base price and the date of release
The 2017 Range Rover Evoque Convertible release date is anticipated to be the middle part of 2016 and it will be launched in about 170 international markets. However, the base cost of the vehicle in the US market is expected to be $50,475.
