2017 Kia Sportage Redesign, Review
The 2017 Kia Sportage is expected to be the first consideration for buyers who are seeking a small crossover that should be fun to drive and to offer exceptional value. The expectation is so because the 2017 model Sportage would come with a fresh look, an innovative engine and lots of interior upgrades. It marks the fourth cohort of the compact sport utility vehicle and it is one among the longest-running vehicles in the vehicle lineup of Kia.
Notably, the outside of the new vehicle gets a complete makeover, inspired by a contemporary jet wrestler design. The fresh look will most likely ignite some dispute when the innovative Sportage arrives in the United States, with its demanding front end and a back end that resembles a mash-up of Lincoln, Ford and BMW small crossover endeavors.
2017 Kia Sportage Changes, Exterior
The 2017 Kia crossover comes with a fresh external design, particularly with a new redesigned front fascia. The front part of the vehicle comes outfitted with restyled headlights and fog lights, carrying LED bulbs, such that the headlights are floating high on the hood. The 2017 model comes with a longer body when compared to that of the outgoing model with the increase in length by 1.6 inches. This allows the cabin to offer more legroom to its occupants at the back part, which will be half an inch more than that of its predecessor.
It also offers more space for a lowered second-row ground for easier admission and exit. There is also additional space for luggage because cargo space behind the back seats increases to just about 31 cubic feet. The next generation Kia Sportage comes outfitted with an innovative suspension design and a firmer chassis, which also promise to preserve the athletic character at the same time as with a refining comfort and travel quality.
All new Kia Sportage 2017 Interior
The cabin comes with adequate upgrades to offer a more modern and luxurious look to it. As a result, the inside of the 2017 Sportage is crammed with luxurious seats made of premium materials, and upholstered with high-quality leather and trim and extra insulation to quash vibration and road noise. There is also innovative technology, such as mobile phone charging and the thinner underpinning pillars, guaranteeing improved visibility. The new vehicle also comes with a wider panoramic sunroof than that of its predecessor.
The LX, which is the base model, comes with standard interior features, such as Bluetooth hands-free phone, a five-inch touchscreen infotainment exhibit and a streaming audio.
On the other hand, the EX model of the new vehicle will be offered with a seven-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hotspot ability, and the most modern version of the Uvo 3 package of linked apps and services of Kia.
The 2017 Sportage SX Turbo trim will comprise all of the standard features of both models, but with an eight-inch touchscreen, satellite navigation system. Some of the optional features available with the 2017 model Sportage include an automatic opening lift gate, heated front seats and a premium 8-speaker Harman Kardon acoustic system.
Engine and Performance
This time Kia equips its new Sportage with innovative engines that offer better performance and fuel cutback. As a result, it comes outfitted with two different engines of different capacities.
The first 2017 Kia Sportage engine will be the one used in the current model, which is the 2.4-liter capacity engine. This will be the base engine that generates 181 horses of maximum power and 177 pounds of maximum torque.
The second engine will be a 2.0-liter capacity turbocharged mill that produces 241 horses of maximum power and 260 pounds of maximum torque.
Both engines will be coupled with a six-velocity automatic transmission. The next Sportage will be offered with the front-wheel drive mode as standard and the all-wheel drive mode will be offered as an option.
