Jaguar, the well-known British multinational auto manufacturer, has put an end to month-long rumors by unveiling the all-fresh Jaguar XE on 8th of September 2014. Sold as the British counter to the BMW 3 Series, the 2017 Jaguar XE looks as though it will assume the 3-Series array from top to bottom. At the authorized reveal, the British automaker put much of its concentration on the XE S, which is obviously the counter to the Mercedes C400 and BMW 335i, but there is also an assortment of smaller gasoline and diesel engines for the lower level models.
The only model that the automaker failed to moan was the counter to the M3 and C63 AMG, which would wear an R-S, R or an SVR badge. The 2017 model Jaguar XE is the first vehicle that has been constructed using the all-fresh aluminum architecture of Jaguar that was forecasted with the 2014 C-X17 Concept SUV . The US-version of 2017 XE will be released with three trim levels, such as XE 25t, XE 20d, and XE 35t.
2017 Jaguar XE Redesign, Exterior
As far as the external design of the next generation Jaguar XE is concerned, it features an elongated hood, a short back end, and a roofline, similar to that of a coupe, which is apparently stimulated by the Jaguar XF. Overall, the lines are deeply chiseled, although the silhouette lines are pretty soft. The front fascia of the sedan is highlighted by the large grille and narrow headlamps, whereas prominent air dams occupy the majority space in the bumper.
Around rear also, most of the elements are borrowed from the Jaguar XF, particularly in the areas of taillight and bumper, and it comes with stylish lines that offer the sedan a sportier look. The new design comes with an inspiring drag coefficient of 0.26.
The base model will be offered with 17-inch alloy wheels as standard, whereas the wheels with diameter from 18 to 20 inches will be offered as an option with a variety of designs.
Just like the rest of the Jaguar lineup, The new Jaguar XE 2017 has been built using rigid, bonded and bolted aluminum structures, an aerospace-stimulated technology that leads to remarkable weight loss. The structure is designed around an innovative modular platform, which is mostly prepared from frivolous 6000-series aluminum. Purposely, 75% of the unibody is crafted from the frivolous metal, which allows it to bring amazing torsional rigidity.
The 2017 model XE comes with the external dimensions of 183.93″ (L) x 81.69″ (W) x 55.74″ (H) with the wheelbase length of 111.61 inches.
