There have been rumors about a complete lineup of performance vehicles, varying from sports sedans to sport utility vehicles since the establishment of Special Vehicle Operations division by Jaguar Land Rover. Logically, the F-Type was likely to get the most concentration, particularly because Jaguar already constructed the 2015 model F-Type Project 7.
Spy photos from 2014 proposed an SVR-badged version is underway, as well, in both convertible and coupe body styles. Now, the British automaker confirmed at the 2016 Motor Show in Geneva that the 2017 Jaguar F-type SVR coupe is ready to make its worldwide debut and released the technical details and official photos, stopping more than a year of passionate speculation regarding the range-topping F-Type version.

2017 Jaguar F-type Changes, Exterior
Externally, the F-type SVR is similar to the limited-version Project 7, featuring a more aggressive body kit when compared to the R model. The most visible changes in the front part lie in the bumper that receives huge intakes on both sides of the main grille. The outlets are similar to those of the Project 7 in terms of size, but they are shaped slightly differently and have black upright inserts toward the external edge. Down below, there is a big splitter, which is thinner than that of the Project 7. On the other hand, the F-type SVR comes with the same grille as that of the F-Type R, having the same horizontal bar beneath the SVR logo and the Jaguar emblem
When observing from sides, only meek modifications can be seen. There are black-painted external mirror caps rather than the usual body-colored mirrors, and new artificial wheels that are 22 lbs lighter than those of the standard rollers. Everything else seems to be identical to those of the F-Type R, including the side skirts and the fenders.
At the back, it stands out through a novel diffuser and a retractable back wing. While the diffuser is not that much aggressive as that of the Project 7, it is a significant development over that of the F-Type R. The wing is smaller than as that on Project 7, as well, but the additional downforce it offers would give the new vehicle improved aerodynamics and steadiness at high velocities.
The next generation Jaguar F-type SVR comes with the external dimension of 176″ (L) x 75.7″ (W) x 51.6″ (H) and with the wheelbase length and curb weight of 103.2 inches and 3759 pounds (approx 1709 kg) respectively.
Similar to the exterior styling, the 2017 Jaguar F-type SVR interior styling is crammed with modified features that cannot be found in other F-Type versions. The cabin comes equipped with 14-way SVR high-performance seats covered in soft leather. Upholstery choices include Siena, Jet, Red or Tan, but all of them accompany a Lozenge Quilt design, micro piping, contrast sewing and headrests embellished with the SVR emblem. The vehicle comes with a black-painted spoke steering wheel, which is available in either Jet leather with suede fabric or just Jet leather. It comes with the contrast sewing in a choice of four colors.
The center console and instrument cluster come with a suede fabric covering, similar to that of the CX-16 concept.
Some of the standard interior high-tech features include:
Touch-screen navigation system and infotainment system with HD Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
770-watt Meridican audio system
InControl Protect disaster and collapse call system.
Additionally, the new vehicle gets the most up-to-date InControl Remote function, which is compatible with wearable technology, like the Apple Watch. Using this tool, drivers can open and close the doors, verify information, such as mileage or fuel level, find the car on a map, and even ignite the engine and control the temperature control system.
2017 Jaguar F-type SVR Engine
The 2017 F-type would get its power and torque from a V8 supercharged DOHC engine with the displacement of 5.0 liters. This engine can generate 575 HP of maximum power at 6,500 RPM and a maximum twist of 516 pounds per foot at 3,500-5,000 RPM. The engine will be mated to an eight-velocity Quickshift transmission and to an all-wheel drive system. The engine accelerates the vehicle in a better way that makes it reach the velocity from the start to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, which is 0.5 seconds faster than the F-Type R and 0.1 seconds faster than the Project 7. The maximum speed would be 200 mph.
Price and the release date
The 2017 Jaguar F-type SVR release date is expected to be the concluding part of 2016, and the new coupe can be procured at an initial price of $125,950, whereas the convertible would be available at $128,800.
