As of late, the Cadillac brand has been on the recovery after many years of descending sales because of a lack of exciting SUV’s. The brand constructed its V-Series array to magnetize the younger generation, but the styling was too old-fashioned to gain much interest. Now, with the innovative 2015 Cadillac ATS and 2014 Cadillac CTS, and the forthcoming 2016 Cadillac CT6 in the fold previously, the company has turned its concentration on the 2014 Cadillac SRX medium-sized crossover, more particularly, its substitute, the XT5.
With the SRX descending almost 6 % in overall sales during 2014, the midsize crossover is in desperate necessitate of a revamp. Keeping true to the promise, Cadillac will modify the name of the SRX and it will be called as XT5 when the redesigned version arrives at dealers in 2017. With the new name, the 2017 Cadillac XT5 SUV, new look, and innovative engine lineup, it is expected that the new model XT5 will bring Cadillac back to the crown of the luxury SUV heap.
2017 Cadillac XT5 Changes, Exterior
The 2017 XT5 comes with a more refined outside look than the SRX, owing to the adoption of the new design lingo of Cadillac, which has already been used on the CTS model and the impending CT6 luxury car. The front part is the principal beneficiary of this new styling prompt. The vertical incorporated LED headlamps drop down sufficiently close to an independent set of LEDs on its air intakes. When all the lights are lighted, the front silhouette turns aggressive. It also comes equipped with a bigger egg crate grill than the SRX, delicate, but efficient bumper lines LEDs and the broad fenders and wheel curves.
From the sides, the quality lines that stretch from the taillights to the front doors display the muscularity further.
At the back, it comes with the same styling as that of the CTS car. It looks busier, owing to the horizontal lines flowing between taillights. The position of the overturn light is different from the CTS while the light on the vehicle was curiously positioned between the two exhausts and below the rear bumper, and the light on the new XT5 is in a more visible site, resting on the crown of the bumper.
The new XT5 comes with the frivolous with MacPherson struts front suspension and a five-link rear suspension. The vehicle will be offered with 18-inch alloy wheels as standard, and 20-inch alloy wheels as an option.

2017 Cadillac XT5 Interior
The 2017 Cadillac SUV comes with some internal design changes, as well. The most notable change being is the cut-and-stitched enfolded panels as different from the molded surfaces found on other versions. The new XT5 uses a pioneering Back Camera Mirror System, which uses a camera installed in the back to show digital video on the exhibit that is applied to the conventional back view mirror. Similar to all 2016 model Cadillac vehicles, the next generation Cadillac XT5 features with a 4G hotspot, as well, together with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for Smartphone incorporation.
Woodgrain inserts are mounted around the air vents on the instrument cluster, on the door trim panels and on the steering wheel. The steering wheel comes mounted with different controls for travel settings, as well as keys to managing the driver information center. The DIC in the middle of the instrument cluster is digital, but the speedometer, tachometer, temperature and gas gauges are all analog with a conventional needle design.
The rear seats in the cabin come with a 40-20-40 folding configuration to expand the cargo space. Rear-seat passengers will be offered with a separate entertainment system, mounted on the floorboard in front of the back, middle seat. The back seats also lie back and glide forward and backward to make for adaptable leg and cargo space on demand.
The American version comes with the same V6, 3.6-liter DI Variable valve timing engine used by the 2016 Cadillac ATS, CTS, and the CT6 models. This engine generates the utmost power and torque of 310 HP and 270 lbs per foot respectively. The new vehicle will be offered with a fresh eight-velocity mechanical transmission as standard that comes with the Electronic Precision Shift.
