Bentley, the leading British auto manufacturer, planned to unveil the 2017 Bentley Flying Spur V8 S at the Auto Show in Geneva. However, the automaker has plans to introduce the model before the commencement of the show. The 2017 model Flying Spur V8 S will slot between the Flying Spur W12 and the Flying Spur V8. Unlike some automobile manufacturers, the British automaker has gone the additional mile with this accumulation to its vehicle lineup.
The new model V8 S is not just an additional Flying Spur V-8, but it comes with some technical upgrades of some visual improvements. It is expected to come with an aggressive, but attractive exterior look and Bentley also put some work into perking up the power output and driving performance when compared to those of the base Flying Spur V8.
2017 Bentley Flying Spur V8 S Exterior
The external styling makes the vehicle easily recognizable as it comes with a unique front fascia. The front part of the vehicle comes equipped with a black-painted matrix grille. The louver has been offered with a more aggressive design, with the black backdrop offered by the air dam when compared to that of the body color background in the standard Flying Spur V8. It can be outfitted with colored headlights as an option.
The 2017 V8 S comes equipped with a set of open-spoke tinted wheels with the diameter of 20 inches. However, the 21-inch Mulliner Specification six-spoke machined wheels will be offered as an option. In addition to the bigger wheels, the high-shine black finished mirror covers come as an option, as well.
Around rear, the vehicle comes equipped with a Beluga gloss finished back diffuser that offers its rear end rather a mysterious look. The taillights with a colored lens will be offered as an option. The redesigned front fascia, the innovative wheels, and that back diffuser make the new V8 S separated from other vehicles.
The 2017 model comes with the external dimensions of 208.5″ (L) x 77.8″ (W) x 58.6″ (H), with the wheelbase length of 120.7 inches.
2017 Bentley Flying Spur V8 S Interior
The interior comes with an attractive and luxurious cabin. It comes equipped with Piano-black wood veneers and a three-spoke guiding wheel, offering a dark yet stylish inside look to the cabin. Bentley included the cabin with shift paddles and a knurled gear shifter with the intention of improving the interior feel of the vehicle. The new V8 S is outfitted with double-tone seats, which are contrasted by the center bow of the roof. The headrests come stitched with the V8 S inscription.
To make the cabin of the vehicle more contented and to offer a natural feeling, the automaker offers it with the semi-aniline hide as a discretionary feature and the seats with straight fluting will also be offered as an option.
All these internal features make the cabin functional, beautiful and comfortable. The new V8 S still offered with all the required features as those of the base model as standard, together with a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The 2017 Bentley comes equipped with the same V8 twin-turbo, 4.0-liter engine used by the base Flying Spur. This engine is finely tuned to produce the greatest power of 500 HP and the greatest torque of 502 pounds per foot. This is 21 HP and 14 pounds per foot in excess of the standard V8 Spur. This allows the new V8 S to attain the 60 mph velocity from the start in 4.6 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds faster than the standard Flying Spur. from 0-60 mph or 100 km/h it goes for 4.9 seconds.
The maximum speed of the vehicle would be 190 mph or 306 km/h, which is 7 mph more than that of the standard model and the new vehicle achieves the combined mileage of 25.9 mpg / 10.9 L/100km. With one fuel tank, it can go 837 km (520 miles).
The 2017 Bentley Flying Spur V8 S engine will be mated to a ZF eight-velocity mechanical transmission to send power to the wheels.
Base cost and the release date
The 2017 Bentley Flying Spur V8 S release date is estimated to be the summer of 2016. Bentley does not yet fix the price of the new V8 S.
