“Raised on a race-track, unleashed on your streets”, says Mercedes-Benz about their newly introduced 2016 Mercedes AMG GT hatchbacked-coupe sports car. The GT brand was first launched in 2014, its predecessor being the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
2016 Mercedes AMG GT Redesign, Exterior
The chassis of the new Mercedes coupe is made up of an aluminium alloy, steel bootlid and a magnesium engine bonnet. The noticeable body features are its long hood, short boot and a near-rear greenhouse. The front embodies diamond pattern grille and beautifully crafted head lamps which extend to the front fenders. The exterior will be available in 13 shades; Black, AMG Solarbeam Yellow, Iridium Silver MEtallic, Brillian Blue, Magnetite Black, design Cardinal Red, Mars Red, designo Diamond White, design Selenite Grey, design Magno Selenite Grey and design Magno Iridium Silver. The new Mercedes AMG GT coupe is also equipped with rain sensing wipers, a rear defogger and a rear spoiler. The wheels are 20 inch in size embodied with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The length, height, width and wheelbase are 179, 50.7, 76.3 and 103.5 inches respectively
The 2016 Mercedes AMG GT interior is really impressive. The interior revolves around an “aviation design” theme. A wide wing shaped instrument panel, central spot light vents, and concave door panels illustrate the concept. Low positioned seats and a taller center console V shaped stack further elevates the idea of entering into a cockpit of a jet plane rather than a sports car. The two bucket seats are heated, stitched together with red threads. Upholstery is offered in 13 different coloured leather combinations. The instrument panel has an 11 speaker Burmester audio system, hand-free Bluetooth phone connectivity, navigation system, back-up cameras and automated self parking system.
Mercedes AMG GT 2016 0-60, Engine
The new AMG GT features a 4.0 litre 32-valve twin turbocharged and intercooled DOHC direct fuel injection V8 engine with 7-speed dual clutch transmission which can generate power up to 503 horsepower at 6250rpm and produce up to 479 lb.ft. of torque at 1750 rpm. The model will be available in rear wheel drive and will be able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds while producing maximum speed of 193 mph, pretty fast right? The engine’s fuel consumption is 17.2 litres while its fuel economy is recorded around 16 hwy/22 city mpg.

The price for is expected to revolve around $129,900. The model will be available in showrooms for sale this April as a 2016 year model.
