2016 Ferrari 488 Spider Review
The 488 Spider is the most influential convertible that Ferrari has yet constructed. It is equipped with a powerful turbocharged engine, which is positioned in the middle part of its body. The 2016 Ferrari 488 Spider is a redesigned version of the 458 Spider and it comes with a folding hard-top , similar to that of the outgoing model, but is more frivolous by 55 pounds (25kg) than a textile roof and it takes only 14 seconds to fold. When the roof top is folded down, it will lie flat over the engine.
2016 Ferrari 488 Spider Exterior
Except the detachable top, the 2016 Ferrari Spider comes with the same exterior styling of the 488 GTB, as well as the wide-open air intake at front, the scalloped back air intakes, the air ducts in its hood and external design cues of the 458 Spider. Just similar to the 458 Spider, the 2016 488 Spider also comes with two flying supports at the back of the seats.
However, when viewed from the back, the new 488 Spider will greatly differ from the coupe. With the removal of the top, the sloping back glass is vanished, leaving only a huge portion of sheet metal, wrapping the turbocharged engine, with six petite heat extractors close to the rear part of the vehicle. In general, the next gen Ferrari 488 Spider just appears right devoid of its top and it has everything it requires to be a worthy heir to the 458 Spider.
It comes with the external dimension of 179.8″ (L) x 76.9″ (W) x 47.7″ (H), with the wheelbase of 104.3 inches. It comes with the Kerb weight of 3362 pounds (1525 kg), with the weight distribution of 41.5% in the front and 58.5% at the back.

The folding roof has been borrowed from the 458 Spider and continues a two-part, which can be folded electronically.
