The 6 Series was first introduced in the market by BMW in 1976 as a descendant to the E9 coupes. As the vehicle did not offer better performance the automaker introduced the first generation of M6 with more powerful engine than the 6 series to improve the performance. When BMW discontinued 6 series, the M6 was also eliminated from the market. Again the M6 was brought into the market for sale in 2013. Now for the model year 2016, BMW has decided to redesign the 2013 model. All the three versions, such as the Convertible, Coupe and Gran Coupe of the 2016 BMW M6 are expected to come with some mild external modifications.
Although BMW has not yet revealed the external modifications of the 2016 BMW M6, from reliable resources, it is expected that the front part of all the versions of the next M6 will be redesigned to offer them an aggressive, but a stylish look. Regarding front fascia modifications, the automaker has done extremely little to revise the bumper, whereas the BMW’s renowned kidney grille emerges to have remained unchanged, but the headlamps of the vehicle would get some minor revisions. Around the back of the new M6, the trunk lid and the bumper are carried over, whereas the tail lights would receive a facelift, derived from the bands of white-and-black Camo, wrapping the majority of their surface.
The front fascia of the new sport car now comes with normal LED headlights and their surrounds have also taken a somewhat different shape, with the innovative LED units having a black band running extended the bottom of the board where the turn indicators used to dwell. On top of the new M6 is fixed with the optional Competition Package that comprises the 20-inch, M light-alloy wheels and black-chrome tailpipes.
The Convertible and Coupe versions come with 2 doors, whereas the Gran Coupe comes with 4 doors. These models also vary in their external dimensions such that the coupe version comes with the dimension of 192.8 x 74.8 x 54.1 inches in length, width and height respectively, whereas the Convertible and coupe versions come with 192.8 x 74.8 x 53.8 and 197.3 x 74.8 x 54.9 inches in their length, width and height respectively. The Convertible and Coupe versions come with the wheel base of 112.2 inches, whereas the Gran Coupe comes with the wheel base of 116.7 inches.
BMW M6 2016 Interior, Redesign
The Interior of the 2016 BMW M6 will also get some minor tweaks in terms of color choices to new trims. Most of the interior features of the new M6 will be same as that of the outgoing model. However, the automaker has done some minor revisions on the instrument cluster according to the modern day’s needs. The new M^ comes with a redesigned instrument cluster, equipped with a modern iPhone-fashion Central Information Display. Inside the cabin of the new vehicle innovative leather shades have been incorporated and a novel full-leather trim package with a distinguished sewing and black-chrome accents complete the interior modifications. Except these minor modifications, the interior design of the new M6 remains the same as that of its predecessor.
The cabin of the Coupe and Convertible versions is designed to accommodate 4 adult passengers, whereas the cabin of the Gran Coupe is designed to accommodate 5 adult passengers. The new BMW Coupe version comes with the cargo capacity of 16.2 cubic feet, whereas the Convertible and Gran Coupe versions come with the cargo capacity of 12.4 and 16.2-44.7 cubic feet respectively.
