The 2015 Volkswagen Sports Coupe Concept GTE is a hybrid plug-in four-door coupe manufactured by Volkswagen since 2013. VW introduced three other models in the concept car line-up.
The exterior of the new GTE is very futuristic, bold, stylish and neat. The front has a wide chrome grille which extends to the broad and narrow head lamps. The Volkswagen logo sits on the top middle of the front grille forming a notch in the hood. The corners of the front are the home of wide square chrome surround intakes. The beltline also has many lines and accents which make the side look very proud. The car will feature 20 or 21-inch wheels with ET45 / 265/30 R21 tires. The wheelbase, length, height and width are 118.9, 191.7, 55.4 and 73.4 inches respectively. Cargo capacity 17.0 cu ft.
Volkswagen Sport Coupe Concept GTE 2015 Interior
The 2015 Volkswagen Sports Coupe Concept GTE interior too has a sleek design with clean cuts, curves and bends. The whole design revolves around the futuristic and high-tech theme. The dash gets the leather trim on its top which follows onto the door panels. The steering-wheel has slots on its sides which act as vents. Another high-tech feature is the two futuristic cup-holders, which can heat or cool the drinks they carry.
The cabin is equipped with 5 infotainment screens, yes 5! The instrument panel is replaced by a 12.3-inch screen, the center stack is replaced by a 10.1 infotainment display-unit, there is another 12.3-inch screen following the center console and reaches the middle of the back seats. Two 10.1 inch displays are fixed to the front seat’s backrests, which offer the passengers access to climate control, telephoning, navigation and entertainment systems. The GTE also gets a driver-oriented electronic interface, which monitors the driver’s pulse via a smart-watch and chooses a direction depending on the driver’s mood.

The Volkswagen Sport Coupe Concept GTE 2016 is equipped with a hybrid powertrain of electric motors connected to 10.7 kWh lithium-ion batteries and a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine. The 3.0 liter is connected with the dual-clutch six-speed transmission, which is capable of sending 295 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels whereas the electric motors with 54 hp and torque of 162 lb-ft and rear wheels 114 hp and torque of 199 lb-ft, send power to the axles out back.
Combined whole System have power of 279 kW / 374 hp. The four-seat coupe only takes 5 seconds to accelerate from 0-62 mph and generates a top speed of 155 mph. The electric motors are able to travel 32 miles on their own and the car travels 745 miles using both the engines. The Volkswagen Sport Coupe Concept GTE 2015 fuel economy and carbon dioxide emissions are 118 mpg and 46 g/km respectively.
2015 Volkswagen Sport Coupe Concept GTE Release Date and Price
VW has not yet announced when it will release its new GTE coupe, but its arrival is expected to be after the 2015 Geneva motor show, i.e. in the second or third quarter of the year. The price will range around the 35 thousand to 39 thousand dollar mark.
The all new 2015 Volkswagen Sport Coupe Concept GTE is made to be a futuristic hybrid car, which is bound to offer all the luxuries and comforts a driver expects from such models.
